Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center<br />Position Type: Full-Time Contract<br />Schedule: Monday – Friday (with on-call requirements)<br /><br />Position Overview<br /><br />Venesco, LLC is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to provide onsite psychiatric services to veterans at the Department of Veterans Affairs medical facility in Memphis, TN.<br /><br />This role involves delivering comprehensive, high-quality psychiatric care in a setting that meets or exceeds national standards, supporting both inpatient and outpatient mental health services.<br /><br />Key Responsibilities<br />Direct Patient Care (Approx. 95%)<br /><br />Inpatient Psychiatry<br /><br />Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric patients<br />Develop and manage individualized treatment plans<br />Collaborate with VA mental health staff<br />Perform discharge and transfer planning<br />Complete all required medical documentation<br /><br />Outpatient Psychiatry<br /><br />Evaluate new patient referrals and review medical records<br />Provide care for patients with severe mental illness<br />Conduct e-consults and follow-up visits<br />Ensure post-discharge follow-up within 30 days<br /><br />Clinic & Residential Services<br /><br />Provide direct patient care in clinic settings<br />Examine patients and interpret diagnostic reports<br />Maintain timely and accurate documentation<br />Manage a daily caseload of approximately:<br /><br />6 patients (1-hour appointments), or<br />12 patients (30-minute appointments), or a combination<br />Administrative Duties (Approx. 5%)<br />Attend required staff meetings<br />Participate in peer reviews, including:<br /><br />Case reviews<br />Patient complaints<br />Tort claims<br />Benefit appeals<br />On-Call Coverage<br />Provide after-hours coverage (evenings, weekends, holidays)<br />Be available:<br /><br />Within 15 minutes by phone<br />Onsite within 60 minutes if required<br />Work Schedule<br />Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM<br />Inpatient Psychiatry: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM<br />On-Call: Nights, weekends, and holidays<br /><br />Requirements:<br /><br />Required Qualification<br />Licensure<br />Active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory<br />No history of license suspension, restriction, or revocation<br />Board Certification<br />Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology<br />Certifications<br />Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or equivalent)<br />Technical Skills<br />Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in psychiatry<br />Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)<br />Competency in medical documentation and EMR systems<br />Additional Requirements<br />Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements<br />Provide documentation of:<br />Education and training history<br />Clinical competency<br />Any gaps in employment or education<br />Adhere to VA Medical Staff Bylaws and facility policies<br />Why Join This Opportunity?<br />Serve and support U.S. veterans<br />Work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment<br />Gain experience within a federal healthcare system<br />Competitive contract compensation<br />How to Apply<br /><br />Interested candidates are encouraged to apply with a current CV and proof of certifications.If you want, I can also:<br /><br />Turn this into a short version (Indeed-ready, 300–500 words)<br />Add salary range + benefits to make it more competitive<br />Or create a recruiter outreach message to psychiatrists (highly effective for filling roles fast)
