Dental Hygienist

Duties:<br /><br />- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments<br />- Take and develop dental x-rays<br />- Conduct oral cancer screenings<br />- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care<br />- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed<br />- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials<br />- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as necessary<br />- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment<br /><br />Skills:<br /><br />- Proficient in recording patient information accurately<br />- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology<br />- Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems<br />- Ability to maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent cross-contamination<br />- Skilled in conducting patient assessments to identify oral health issues and develop appropriate treatment plans<br />- Thorough understanding of infection control protocols to minimize the risk of transmission of infectious diseases<br />- Excellent medical documentation skills to ensure accurate recording of patient information and treatment details<br />- Familiarity with managing and maintaining electronic medical records<br /><br />This is not an exhaustive list of duties or skills required for the position.
