*About the Role*<br /><br />We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Psychiatrist to conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for veterans. This position focuses exclusively on assessment not treatment and supports disability claims, service‑connected condition reviews, and diagnostic clarification. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, cultural competence with military populations, and a commitment to trauma‑informed, evidence‑based evaluation practices.<br /><br />Key Responsibilities<br /><br />* Conduct structured psychiatric evaluations, including Compensation &amp; Pension (C&amp;P) exams<br />* Diagnose and assess conditions such as PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, and TBI‑related symptoms<br />* Review medical records, service treatment records, and collateral documentation<br />* Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and other required federal forms<br />* Provide clear, objective, and timely evaluation reports<br />* Maintain neutrality and adhere to evaluation‑only protocols<br />* Utilize trauma‑informed communication to ensure veterans feel respected and supported<br />* Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to ensure efficient scheduling and documentation workflows<br /><br />Required Qualifications<br /><br />* MD or DO with completed residency in Psychiatry<br />* Active, unrestricted medical license<br />* Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry<br />* Experience conducting psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations<br />* Strong report‑writing skills and familiarity with DSM‑5‑TR criteria<br />* Understanding of veteran mental health concerns and military cultural competence<br /><br />Preferred Qualifications<br /><br />* Prior experience conducting C&amp;P exams or VA‑related evaluations<br />* Familiarity with federal disability evaluation standards and DBQs<br />* Experience assessing PTSD, TBI, and trauma‑related conditions<br /><br />Pay: $100.00 - $200.00 per hour<br /><br />Work Location: Hybrid remote in Austin, TX 78701
