OverviewAs a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals, ensuring efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations. Medical Assistants are essential in delivering quality patient services, assisting with medical procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Key Responsibilities
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments
Administer injections and medications as directed by the physician
Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures, such as phlebotomy and EKG
Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information in EMR systems
Prepare and manage treatment rooms for patient examinations
Provide patient education and support on medications, diet, and procedures
Ensure medical supplies and equipment are stocked and sterilized
Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up appointments
Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
Adhere to infection control and patient confidentiality policies
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant certification
Familiarity with medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
Ability to accurately record and maintain patient information
Proficiency in EMR systems and computer skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Capability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of patient care principles and infection control practices
Ability to perform venipuncture and administer medications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to adhere to ethical and professional standards
Current CPR certification and immunizations
Experience in a clinical setting is preferred
Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and clinic workflows
