Neylons is currently looking for a Healthcare Assistant role to join our Residential Care Home team in Newbridge, Co Kildare.

Shifts will be days/nights, Monday through Sunday, in rotation, with an average of 18 to 24 hours a week.

Job Specifications

Monitoring and reporting patients’ health needs.

Contributing to the development of care in care plans and complete interventions as described.

Supporting the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed.

Providing emotional support to residents.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, support staff, and external allied health practitioners.

Participating in team meetings, handovers, and performance reviews.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Documenting all interventions and patient responses.

Ensuring compliance with best practices in a private home care setting.

Promoting healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.

Offering support to residents regarding health screenings and assessments.

Responding to emergencies and providing immediate care as per policy.

Collaborating with emergency response teams as needed.

Following established protocols for emergency situations.

Participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Identifying areas for improvement in patient care processes.

Contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.

Staying current with advancements in healthcare through continuous learning.

Providing training and education to colleagues and support staff.

Mentoring and supporting new healthcare team members.

Maintaining confidentiality regarding clients, former clients, and general business matters.

Adhering to all Neylons Facility Management policies and procedures.

Working in accordance with Health & Safety standards and using provided personal protective equipment.

Promoting Neylons Facility Management’s vision, values, and mission.

Demonstrating flexibility in response to business changes, development, and the review of best practices.

Fostering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

Requirements:

Level 5 QQI in Care Assistant to include Care of the Elderly.

A can-do attitude

Experience in a similar role

Good working knowledge of English

Knowledge and willingness to apply safe working practices

Knowledge of how to use the equipment necessary to carry out the assigned tasks.

Garda vetting is required.
