Matrix Providers is looking for a Physician Assistant (Physician Extender) to support Military Service Members and their families at the Navy Medicine Readiness & Training Unit in Groton, CT. We offer a stable work environment with lower provider-to-patient ratios and reliable schedules.
Position OverviewAt the Deployment Health Center, the Physician Assistant (Physician Extender) will assist in the transition process of returning service members and their dependents to home life and military duties.
Compensation And Schedule
Hourly rate: $70.00 – $74.00 (salaried position, 40 hours per week)
Sign-on bonus eligible
Monday to Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or on-call shifts

Duties And Responsibilities
Phone Triage and Ambulatory Care Assistance:
Conduct phone triage based on established protocols
Assist in accessing appropriate ambulatory/emergency care
Delegate tasks within clinical direction
Counseling And Health Teaching
Provide counseling for individuals, groups, and families
Deliver health teaching related to patients’ conditions and self-care
Health Care Planning
Develop health care plans emphasizing self-care responsibility
Involve patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals in the planning process
Family Planning Management
Offer assessment, education, and management of family planning
Additional Duties
Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities
Practice aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control guidelines
Respond efficiently in emergency patient situations
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university with certification from the ARC-PA
Certification: NCCPA certification
Licensure: Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant license
Experience: 1 year within the last 2 years as a Nurse Practitioner
