Full Job Description

We’re hunting for a Manager of Therapy, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will direct, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of a Health Center(s) Therapy Department and various projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of the Health Centers and Ambulatory Administration.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Manages daily operations of assigned Health Center, including customizing practice site operations, creating, and overseeing annual capital, operating budgets, monitoring financial performance, and billing.

Staff scheduling/productivity: Monitors staffing requirements and productivity levels by establishing staffing guidelines based on patient needs and budgetary guidelines within review at least annually.

Communicates with team members to ensure the successful operation of Health Centers including therapist, parent, patient complaints, and suggestions.

Manages human resources through hiring, developing, and coaching competent staff and investigating/resolving all employee, patient and physician complaints and concerns. Provides structured feedback for each staff member through yearly development plans and informal and/or formal follow-up at least twice a year. Facilitate therapy student placement in Health Center and mentoring of students.

Ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards (JCAHO, HCFA, DI, CLIA, OSHA, and ADA).

Conducts special projects as needed for Health Centers Administration.

Ensures delivery of quality, cost effective patient care within the family-centered care environment by coordinating clinical training and mentoring for licensed and non-licensed staff based on identified individual and department needs and organizational requirements.

Identifies problems and opportunities for improvement, analyzes options, selects, and implements effective improvements. Collaborates with other departments to identify and resolve issues related to therapy departmental operations when necessary. Supports the implementation of unit/department goals and communication of the IDS strategic plan to staff.

Supporting community partnerships with local NICUs

Skills & Requirements

Required bachelor’s degree Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy

Preferred master’s degree business, education, or health care related field

Required Licenses/Certifications – One of the following:

OT – Occupational Therapist Licensed by the state of Texas

PT – Physical Therapist Licensed by the state of Texas

TX-SLP – Texas Speech Language Pathology Licensed by the state of Texas

Preferred BLS – Cert-Basic Life Support

Required 8 years health care experience
